We have been notified by PowerSchool of a recent cybersecurity incident that enabled an unauthorized party to access information across hundreds of school divisions in North America, including Elk Island Catholic Schools (EICS).

PowerSchool is a third-party vendor utilized by EICS to store data related to students, their families, and our staff.

No financial information is stored on PowerSchool, and there is no need to reset your login information. At this time we are continuing to work with PowerSchool to understand the scope of the incident and any potential impact to our families and staff.

In response, PowerSchool has assured us that the incident has been contained, and that it has implemented additional security measures to prevent unauthorized access of this nature in the future.

Protecting student and family information remains a top priority for EICS. We understand that news of this nature may cause concern and we appreciate your understanding and support.
