Transportation Requests - Timelines for 2025/26 School Year

Transportation Timeline

  1. February 1st, 2025: NEW to EICS Registrations open online

  2. March 2025: 2025/26 Transportation Request open to all current EICS students to complete  
    • This document is found in your Powerschool Portal
    • Go to - Student Forms/School Engage
      • Students
      • Select student name
      • Forms will populate-select the Transportation Request Form and submit
    • One form must be completed for each child who needs transportation in your home.

  3. April - June 2025: Transportation office will process request forms and load approved fees for 2025/26.

  4. August 2025: Bus Passes will be printed and mailed out to families once accounts are paid/payment plans in place.
  1. End of August/before the beginning of the new school year: All families that have paid for transportation will receive a phone call from your child’s bus driver with the information on bus stop location and pick up/drop off times.

Fees and Payments

EICS currently provides busing for students in Sherwood Park and Strathcona County.

EICS Busing Fees for the 2024-2025 School Year

If your child is being bused to an EICS school in Camrose, Fort Saskatchewan, or Vegreville, that service is provided by another school district whose fees may vary in price.

Please refer to the proper school district for their fees:

  1. Access the online payment system by logging into your PowerSchool Parent Portal
  2. Click on “Student Fees and Forms” in the Navigation tool bar.
  3. Select “Checkout” and then click “Submit Payment”.
  4. Put the full amount owing into the cart and hit “Submit”.
  5. An option for a payment plan will be made available at this point.

Payment Plan applications can be found on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Payments will be required monthly, August through January.

For students who are bused by EICS, no refunds will be issued after September 30, unless:

  1. Your child leaves an EICS school prior to the end of the school year.
  2. Your child is a designated student who moves outside the eligible distance requirement during the school year.

In both situations, you shall be refunded a prorated portion of that child's transportation fee.

*Refunds will not be processed until the bus pass has been returned to the EICS Transportation department.  

Refund Process

Transportation fee refunds and credits on accounts will be applied in the following order:

  1. Outstanding fees payment.
  2. Kept on account for payment of future fees.
  3. Transferred to sibling fees, on request.
