Announcing Leadership Changes for the 2024-2025 School Year

We're excited to share some wonderful staff updates with our Elk Island Catholic Schools community as we prepare for the next school year. The following leadership changes, which will go into effect following the current school year, are designed to continue enriching our educational environment and nurturing the growth of our students in faith and education.

Principal Transfers
(Current schools in parentheses) 

  • Pamela Gravelle (Madonna Catholic School) will be joining St. Luke Catholic School as Principal.
  • Cathy Hinger (St. Luke) is set to lead Madonna Catholic School.
  • Joe Kucy (St. Martin’s) will be taking the helm at St. Nicholas Catholic School.
  • Robert Stecyk (St. John Paul II) will serve as Division Principal at CLS.

New Principals

  • Melissa Damur, Assistant Principal at St. Isidore Learning Centre, will serve as the Principal at St. Isidore.
  • Darby Murphy, Assistant Principal at St. Mary’s Catholic School, is looking forward to leading St. Martin’s Catholic School.

Acting Principal

  • Tiffany Tomlinson will step in as Principal at St. John Paul II Catholic School.

Assistant Principal Transfers

  • Jackie Comartin (Holy Spirit Catholic School) is excited to contribute to St. Nicholas Catholic School.
  • Sean Gregg (St. Luke) will be bringing his talents to St. Mary’s Catholic School.
  • Becky Gumpinger (Our Lady of Mount Pleasant) will be joining the team at St. Patrick Catholic School.
  • Barb Rafuse (St. Nicholas) is looking forward to her new role at Holy Spirit Catholic Elementary School.
  • Sharilynn Shakeshaft (St. Patrick) will start at Our Lady of Mount Pleasant Catholic School.
  • Fiona Wimmer (Archbishop Jordan) is moving to Madonna Catholic School.

New Assistant Principals
(Current location in parentheses) 

  • Erin Croft (Teacher, Holy Spirit) will join the community at St. John XXIII Catholic School.
  • Nadine Diogenes (Consultant, Central Learning Services) will be part of the team at Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School.

We are thrilled to see what the future holds with these gifted leaders at the helm of our schools. Their dedication to fostering an environment where our students can thrive in their faith and academics is truly inspiring.
