Collaborative Response Model: It takes a TEAM
Elk Island Catholic Schools welcomes all students and provides an equal opportunity for all students to achieve success according to their unique potential within the context of the most enabling learning environment. EICS has been working for several years to establish a systematic framework for addressing the needs of students at all levels of development. This framework is called the Collaborative Response Model. Collaborative Response sets out a multidisciplinary approach to collectively meet the increasing complexity and demands within a classroom and a school community.
In each school, we have a Student Support Team who collaboratively work together, in partnerships with staff, families and community agencies, to serve and support all of our EICS learners. This team often consists of: Principals and Assistant Principals, Collaborative Response Coordinators/Inclusive Learning Facilitators, Family Wellness Workers and/or Counsellors. These teams provide leadership, assistance, and support in meeting the needs of all students.
